February Full of Surprise!

2017 FEBRUARY SUNSET!

Well, it seems to me that February 2017 will be one to remember!

In this winter season, robins have been sighted long before the official start of spring.

This week, in southern Ontario, the temperatures are soaring to levels that would usually occur in spring.

Even the squirrels are looking somewhat surprised by the melting snow and bare lawns.

2017 FEBRUARY SQUIRREL SURVEYING THE BACKYARD!

Yes, I do think that February 2017 will noted as an atypical winter month.

Sometimes, when asked to recall a certain year or even a decade, it might seem that it is all a Blur; however, there are some specific years or ages that stay quite clearly in my memory.

Seventeen was just such a year. This week, I was thrilled to be included in a series of posts on the theme “Me, at 17”.

If you wish, you can check it out at Haiku by Patricia McGoldrick (Me at 17 poetry and prose series)

Whether you are being mindful of the present, or thinking back to other years, have a great weekend, all! 🙂

WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: IT’S NOT THIS TIME OF YEAR WITHOUT…

It’s not this time of year without… squirrels and chipmunks!

These small creatures are hyper busy these days, scurrying about the yards and lawns in search of treasures to store for the winter.

They fend for themselves, very well! When the leaves fall, the community is aware that many trees have these big nests in them.

This particular squirrel was quite brazen, climbing onto the deck. Next spring, I’m sure that I will find a few items in the flower pots that are not anything that I planted! C’est la vie!

Also, had some good news that some of my poems were published at Tuesday: Poetic Leaves of Autumn.

Have a great weekend, All!
